Our pastor
Pastor Chris Verdell is a decorated, retired naval commander who values service, hard work, and dedication. He brings unique perspectives gained from real-life experiences while serving in leadership positions across various Navy platforms over the course of 30 years. While Pastor Chris’s personal accomplishments are admirable, what he cherishes most is the impact that his leadership has had on the many people he has led, motivated, and pushed to achieve their goals.
The second of six children born to a Pastor Tommie and Mattie Verdell, Pastor Chris learned the value of hard work at an early age, growing up in Plum Grove and Crawford, Mississippi, respectively. He brings that same know-how, motivation, and dedication to his work as the Pastor of St. John Full Gospel Church, where he succeeds his father. He has a heart for people and believes that God’s Word is the STANDARD by which we should strive to live. He believes in operating with a spirit of excellence and believes that love and compassion should be at the center of everything we do.
